Today, 9th October 2026, Uganda marks 64 years of independence. On behalf of everyone at Baasa Cloud, we wish every Ugandan at home and in the diaspora a happy and peaceful Independence Day. For God and My Country.
64 years of building
On 9th October 1962, Uganda raised its own flag for the first time. Every generation since has added something to the country we know today: the schools, the roads, the markets, the businesses and, more recently, the digital economy. Mobile Money changed how Ugandans pay and get paid. Young developers in Kampala, Gulu, Mbarara and Mbale are building apps, websites and online stores that serve customers across East Africa and beyond.
Digital independence matters too
We believe the next chapter of independence is digital. That means Ugandan businesses owning their websites, their domains and their customer data. It means fast, reliable hosting close to home, support from people who understand local realities, and payment options that work for local customers. That is the reason Baasa Cloud exists, and it is the promise we renew today.
Our thanks to you
To the entrepreneurs, schools, churches, SACCOs, NGOs and creators who trust us with their websites and email: thank you. Every site you launch is a small part of a stronger, more connected Uganda. We are proud to work alongside you.
Celebrate safely
Enjoy the day with family and friends, and take a moment to reflect on how far we have come as a nation and where we are going together. Here is to many more years of peace, unity and progress.
Happy 64th Independence Day, Uganda.
